Privacy Policy for Tee

Effective Date: June 27, 2026

Thank you for using Tee (the "Extension"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how it is used, and what information is (and is not) collected.

Our philosophy is simple: your data belongs to you. The Extension is designed to execute actions on your behalf while minimizing the collection of personal information.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

  • Collect or store your browsing history.
  • Collect or store the content of the webpages you visit on our servers.
  • Collect or store text you select on webpages.
  • Sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
  • Collect analytics or usage telemetry about your browsing activity.

Unless explicitly stated in this Privacy Policy, your data remains on your device.

2. Information Stored Locally

The Extension stores information locally on your device using Chrome's extension storage APIs to provide its functionality. This may include:

  • Installed Actions and scripts
  • User-created Actions
  • Extension settings and preferences
  • Keyboard shortcuts and UI preferences
  • API keys that you configure
  • Cached marketplace metadata (if applicable)

This information is stored locally within your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.

3. Website Content Access

The Extension may access webpage content only when required to perform an action that you explicitly initiate. Examples include:

  • Selecting text and running an Action
  • Executing a custom automation
  • Running a marketplace Action
  • Using context menu commands or keyboard shortcuts

The Extension does not continuously monitor your browsing activity. Webpage content is only accessed for the duration necessary to complete the requested action.

4. Third-Party API Providers

Many Actions allow you to connect directly to third-party AI or automation providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or other services that you configure. When you execute one of these Actions:

  • Data is sent directly from your browser to the third-party service.
  • Requests are not proxied through our servers.
  • We do not receive, inspect, or store the contents of those requests.

Your use of third-party services is governed by their own privacy policies and terms of service.

5. API Keys

API keys that you provide are stored locally within your browser. We do not have access to your API keys and they are never transmitted to our servers. You are responsible for keeping your API credentials secure.

6. Marketplace Actions

The Extension may allow users to install Actions from an official marketplace or other sources. Actions are executable scripts that run within your browser. Because Actions may execute JavaScript on webpages, you should only install Actions from sources you trust. You remain in control of which Actions are installed, enabled, or removed.

7. License Verification

If you purchase a premium license, the Extension periodically communicates with our licensing server to verify your license. This communication may include:

  • Your license key
  • An anonymous machine identifier generated by the Extension
  • Extension version
  • Basic licensing metadata necessary to validate your license

This process does not include browsing history, webpage content, selected text, API keys, or personal documents. License verification is used solely to validate software licensing.

8. Permissions

The Extension requests only the permissions necessary to provide its features. Depending on the version installed, these permissions may include:

  • activeTab — Access the currently active tab when you invoke an Action.
  • scripting — Execute Actions on webpages that you request.
  • storage — Store Actions, settings, preferences, and API keys locally.
  • contextMenus — Provide right-click menu Actions.
  • notifications — Display notifications related to Actions or Extension events.
  • host permissions — Allow Actions to interact with supported websites when required.

Permissions are used solely to provide the Extension's functionality.

9. Data Security & Retention

We take reasonable measures to protect the information handled by the Extension. Because Actions may execute custom JavaScript, users should review and install Actions only from trusted sources. We do not retain webpage content or browsing data on our servers. Information stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, reset the Extension, or uninstall the Extension. License verification records may be retained only as long as necessary to operate the licensing service.

10. Contact

If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy, licensing, or the Extension, please contact us through the support email listed on the Chrome Web Store page.
